This website contains snippets of the historical records of Kunjiang (also known as Khoon Kang, 鲲江 or 昆江) village. While numerous sources exist in print and online, they can be difficult to access and may be in languages unfamiliar to visitors. Many villagers left this village in the past and settled in countries outside China. A growing number of the descendants of these emigrants are unable to connect due to inadequate information. This website serves to help the descendants learn about their homeland in China by directing them to these sources of information.
The purpose of this website is not to replace or duplicate existing online platforms that connect the descendants of our village. Before the Internet, our forefathers maintained connections using the simple communication tools available at the time. Over the years, different generations have adopted various ways to stay in touch, making it challenging for some to connect. This website serves as an interim solution, guiding users to existing online platforms that facilitate these connections. Hopefully, new and improved methods will emerge in the future, eventually making this website unnecessary.
